The Yacu 'Rupaj Resort Thermal-Spa is located in the ancient "Rincon de Atacama", in the Río Hondo Department, Santiago del Estero, Argentina. The 99 acres of the Santiago native vegetation present in the Resort meet the shore of the majestic Frontal Dam lake (80.000 acres) along the Resort's 750 yards private beach.
The premises are located in the Santiago del Estero province, 745 miles away from Buenos Aires and 4 miles away from National Route 9, where the city of Rio Hondo, a traditional thermal center famous for its 14 thermal aquifers of different temperature and chemical composition.
You can reach it by car following National Route 34 until Santiago del Estero and from there take Route 9. You can also reach by plane from Buenos Aires landing in Tucuman or Santiago del Estero. From any of these cities, there are only 43 miles to Rio Hondo.
The resort project was devised by TURISMO y RECREACION S.A. , a consulting service specialized in dynamic tourism which has among its achievements projects such as the Iguazu National Park (Misiones, Argentina) and the recycling of the Llao Llao Hotel (Bariloche, Argentina). Different sport and recreational activities can be practiced in the Resort: water sports, fishing, safaris, board games and golf (the 9 holes course was designed by EMILIO SERRA y CIA. taking advantage of the native forest.
The Resort offers restaurant service, a typical- food patio, thermal water swimming pools with hydromassage and a Caribbean bar.
The Resort is designed as a natural reserve, respecting the “Monte Santiagueño” (the Santiago Forest), a real paradise. In it you will be able to “find yourself through Nature”.The Resort has 3-stars equivalent services for the Bungalows, which comply with international standards: King size sommiers, fridge, stove, microwave, TV, CD player sound system, solarium and thermal water tube.

The Carob Trees Path: It's a three-quarter mile forestal interpretation path open in the forest. Apart from getting information about the great variety of native Santiago trees and flowers (carob trees, chañar trees [Geoffroea decorticans], quebracho trees, jujube tree, ancoche trees, etc.), you will feel the haunting energy trasmitted by the forest. You will watch the native birds nesting in the area and you will understand importance of the monte for the native culture. Guests will receive a guide describing the native species along the path, highlighting the importance the rural people asign to the land products (bark, leaves, fruits, etc.). |

Health Path: a half mile path with exercises suitable to different physical conditions or therapies needed by the guest. Exercises are explained in signs along the parth. On one side of the sign, you will find the exercise to be done according to different physical conditions and on the other side, messages aimed at getting interior peace in close contact with Nature. |
